Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the KanaGym mobile application ("the App") provided by Arif Fathurohman ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The Service

KanaGym is an educational game for practicing the Japanese kana writing systems (Hiragana and Katakana) through recall exercises. Your progress is stored locally on your device. The App requires no registration.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, through the Apple App Store or Google Play, solely for personal, non-commercial use. KanaGym is licensed, not sold, to you.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
• use automation, bots, or other tools to manipulate game mechanics, rewards, or advertisements;
• interfere with the App's advertising, monetization, or telemetry services, or fraudulently trigger rewarded-ad benefits;
• distribute the App or its content commercially, or use it to provide a competing service;
• use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or third-party terms, including Apple's or Google's terms.

4. Purchases

The App offers a one-time lifetime premium purchase that unlocks additional features (such as custom practice sets). All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — we never receive or store your payment information. Your purchase is subject to the applicable store's payment, pricing, and refund policies; refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google. Premium status is validated through our purchase infrastructure provider (RevenueCat) and can be restored on reinstall using the same store account.

5. Advertisements

The App is monetized exclusively through voluntary rewarded advertisements: ads are shown only when you choose to watch one in exchange for an in-app benefit. If a reward fails to grant after a completed ad view, the App itself never takes anything away from your progress. Ads are provided by Google AdMob and are subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.

6. Educational Disclaimer

The App is provided for practice and entertainment. While we aim for accuracy in kana content and romaji, we do not warrant that the content is error-free or sufficient for any particular level of Japanese proficiency. KanaGym is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for formal Japanese language education or certification.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its name, design, code, artwork, and the Kuro-nyan character, is owned by Arif Fathurohman and protected by copyright and other laws. The kana characters themselves are part of the Japanese writing system and are not claimed as our property.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY DEVICE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (IF ANY). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted to you ends; sections 6–9 survive termination. If your lifetime premium entitlement was terminated for breach, no refund is provided.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms deprives consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their place of residence.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
