Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026This Privacy Policy explains how KanaGym ("the App", "we", "us"), operated by Arif Fathurohman, handles information when you use our mobile application. We built KanaGym to be a lightweight, privacy-friendly learning game: your training progress lives on your device, and we do not operate user accounts or our own backend servers.
1. Summary
- Your gameplay progress (mastery, settings, streaks) is stored locally on your device only.
- We have no accounts and no backend servers — we never receive your name, email, or gameplay data directly.
- Trusted third-party services (RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Google Firebase) process limited data for purchases, ads, and app diagnostics, as described below.
- We never sell your personal information.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
KanaGym keeps all of your training data on your device using local storage: your kana mastery and review schedule, workout history and statistics, settings (language, speech, haptics), and premium status cache. This data never leaves your device to our servers, because we do not have any. Uninstalling the App deletes this local data. It is not backed up by us and cannot be recovered by us.
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
3.1 RevenueCat (Purchases)
If you purchase the lifetime premium upgrade, the purchase is processed by Apple or Google and validated through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives anonymized app-user identifiers and transaction receipts to verify your entitlement and restore it when you reinstall the App. We never see your payment details — payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
3.2 Google AdMob (Rewarded Ads)
KanaGym uses Google AdMob to show rewarded ads only — ads you explicitly choose to watch in exchange for an in-app benefit (such as an extra retry or a daily energy refill). We do not show banner, interstitial, or forced ads. When ads are requested or shown, Google may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), approximate location derived from IP address, and ad interaction data. We do not prompt for advertising tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) on iOS; where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), ads are served in a non-personalized manner. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
3.3 Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics)
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how features are used and to fix crashes. These services may automatically collect technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, locale, and crash reports/stack traces, along with aggregated usage events (for example, that a workout was completed). This data is not used to identify you personally. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
3.4 UserJot (Feedback Board)
The App's "Send Feedback" button opens an external feedback board hosted by UserJot in your browser. Anything you choose to post there (ideas, bug reports, votes) is subject to UserJot's terms and privacy policy and is outside this Policy. You are never required to use the feedback board to play KanaGym.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or receive: your name or email address (unless you contact us by email), account credentials, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings from normal gameplay, or health data. We do not create advertising profiles ourselves and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
5. Children's Privacy
KanaGym is an educational game suitable for a general audience, but it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since gameplay data stays on the device and we operate no accounts, we have no way to identify individual users. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our feedback channels, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, to object to processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by those laws.
- Local data: uninstalling the App permanently removes all progress stored on the device.
- Ads: you can limit ad tracking or reset your advertising ID in your device settings (iOS: Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID).
- Diagnostics and purchase records: to request deletion of analytics, crash, or purchase-related data held by our providers on our behalf, email us and we will forward and assist with your request.
7. Data Retention and Security
Local gameplay data remains on your device until you delete the App. Diagnostic and purchase data is retained by our providers according to their standard retention practices. All third-party services listed above transmit data over encrypted connections (TLS).
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected in the App or on this page.
